Thinking of starting a walking routine?

Smethport Web — by Claudia Caminite

Your timing couldn’t be better! The University Of Pittsburgh Graduate School Of Public Health has teamed up with the Pennsylvania Department of Health on an important project called WalkWorks. Its goals are to:

— Identify and mark safe walking routes that are accessible to people of all ages and abilities.

— Establish guided community-based walking groups.

— Impact policy related to pedestrian transportation in the built environment.

WalkWorks is mapping and marking the trails, letting you know where they are and getting groups together in your community to get out and get walking.

Sign up and get or stay healthy and fit and shed a few pounds just in time for summer.

If you would like to participate either as group leader or just go out and have fun with peers, please contact:
