Mrs. Clause, favorite helper of the famous Santa Clause from the North Pole, was at the Country Porch Cafe on Friday Dec. 11 to help promote the popular cafe’s Christmas Open House.

Jackie Taylor, owner of the cafe, provided the following details about the seasonal promotion…  

“We just wanted to let you know that all of our gourmet drinks are 10% off. There are other specials going on.

“In our gift shop as well. Laurie Crawford has put all of her handmade Victorian lampshades on sale at 10% off.

“We are most excited about the fact that Mrs. Claus will be here to visit. She would like to meet all the children in Smethport. Today she will be here between noon and 3pm, and then between 5 and 7pm.

“Tomorrow she will be here between 12:00 noon and 5pm. Please stop by and say hello to Mrs. Claus. She’ll have a free Christmas cookie for you and some other surprises.

“Today we also begin our traditional Eggnog Latte made with real Eggnog! It is very yummy. Other Christmas lattes include the Candy Cane Latte and the Snowflake Latte, my new favorite.

“There will be door prizes given away to the winners of our dice game. And remember that tomorrow at noon we’re hosting a very special jewelry party, Premier Designs”.

“So stop in this weekend. We’ll be open with extended hours. Tonight we’re open until 9pm. And Saturday we’re open 8am to 7pm.”
