Diana Covert’s new Lightwaves Laser Engraving Shop is Smethport’s newest addition of novelty shops that replace Smethport’s First Christmas Store. Covert’s shop, like the former Christmas Store, offers a unique and interesting selection of gifts.

While laser engravings etched onto a variety of substrates such as glass, wood and metal are Covert’s specialty, a wide variety of other unique gift items are featured in the store as well.

A selection of high quality antiques is available in the store, as are painted and etched glassware, stained glass and artisan crafts.

A nice selection of fashion jewelry adds even more variety to the gift selection, as do specialty candles, soaps and lotions, key holders and key chains.

The popular Dan Smith candies are featured as well in the shop, along with trivets of various descriptions.

Covert’s shop is located in the historic McCoy Drugstore building adjacent to the NAPA Auto Parts Store in the 400 block of West Main Street. The historic McCoy Drugstore interior has been faithfully and carefully restored to its Victorian elegance by Diana and her husband, Doug. It brings a bit more elegance to the western edge of Smethport’s business district.
