Registration is now open for summer art camps to be held at Hamlin Memorial Library in Smethport.

Engaging, age appropriate art projects will be created based on the theories and styles of selected artists. The art camps will be presented in different sessions for each age group.

Kids Art Camp for students entering second and third grades will be held from 9 am to noon from June 6 to 10.

Tween Camp for students entering grades fourth, fifth and sixth grades will be held from 9 am to 2 pm on June 18, 19, 21 and 22.

Teen Art Camp for students entering seventh through 12th grades will be held from 9 am to 2 pm on July 18, 19, 21 and 22.

Big Messy Art Camp for 3- to 6-year-olds who must be accompanied by a guardian or caregiver during the 90-minute session of dripping, splatting and spinning “action art.” Session A will be held on July 11, and Session B will be held on July 25 with the same activities repeated on July 21.

The camps will be taught by PA Wilds teaching artist Julie Mader. There is a fee for each of the camps to help with the cost of materials. The class size is limited to 15 students, and pre-registration at the library is required.

These camps are supported in part by the Pennsylvania Council on the Arts, a state agency funded by the Commonwealth of Pennsylvania and the National Endowment for the Arts, a federal agency.
