Smethport borough officials taking keen interest in increasing business through tourism

Borough officials are taking a keen interest in increasing business through tourism, which began when Smethport was named the first Route 6 Heritage Community.

“Every day there are 5,000 cars that travel Main Street that can be tapped into with the right type of advertising and the right kinds of business to make them stop,” said Les Jordan Jr., chairman of the Heritage council’s tourism promotion committee. “The borough is aware of that traffic flow and is doing some things to plan for the future to make those stops happen.”    Read more »
