Jared Pavlock, a high honor student and co-president of the Class of 2017 at Smethport Area High School, has been awarded the 2017 Sharon De Lancey Memorial Scholarship.

Jared received the $1,000 scholarship Sunday following Mass at the church, where Sharon De Lancey was a choir member, catechism teacher and leader of the Small Communities program and Rite of Christian Initiation for Adults.

Pavlock is currently undecided about a major at Pennsylvania State University, but plans to pursue either a pre-med degree curriculum or a degree in biology or chemistry.

Graduates of SAHS who are also parishioners of St. Elizabeth of Hungary Church in Smethport are eligible to apply for the financial support.
