At its general meeting last evening at Connie’s Route 6 Diner, the Smethport Area Chamber of Commerce elected board members to fill five vacancies. The new board will be officially introduced to the community at the Chamber’s 10th Annual Business Dinner on Thursday, April 28.

Elected to the Board were Judy Olson from Hamlin Bank, Renee Snyder from Buchanan Brothers Pharmacy and Wayne Foltz, a firefighter in Smethport who ran as an individual.

Re-elected to the Board were Scott Christie from Lakeview Senior Care & Living Center and Barb Ness from the Smethport Senior Center.

Diana Covert from Lightwaves Laser Engraving and Chamber treasurer Lu Vandermark from the McKean County Historical Society will continue to serve their terms.

At its next meeting, the Board will elect new officers, including president. The current president, Nathan Muller from Ascent Solutions, chose not to run, but will preside over the Chamber dinner and introduce the new Board.

The featured guest at the Chamber dinner will be Smethport resident Jeff Andrulonis, President & CEO of Colonial Radio Group, who will speak on the topic, “Business in a Slow Economy – What’s Working and Not Working in Smethport and McKean County.”

At the dinner, the Chamber will recognize the Business of the Year and Volunteers of the Year for 2010. Music will be provided by Michael Roche during the social hour and dinner.

Attendees are not required to be Chamber members. Download a copy of the dinner invitation here.
