Community Tree Planting Programs

Community tree planting programs offer Smethport residents an opportunity to enhance their property by planting trees in the area between the sidewalk and street in front of their home. The Memorial Tree Program offers families an opportunity to remember their loved ones while enhancing the natural beauty and tradition of the Smethport Borough.

Plant A Tree - In memory of a loved one. For a donation of approximately $200 -$300, depending on species selection, a new tree will be planted in memory of your loved one. The Shade Tree Commission will assist you with site and species selection.

A metal tree tag noting “In Memory of…” or “In Commemoration of…” and listing the tree genus and species, along with an identification number, will be attached to a stake in front of the tree for educational and inventory purposes.

Adopt A Tree - To honor someone you love and admire. For a $150 donation, an established tree, already planted within the Borough may be selected.

Smethport Borough Jumpstart Program

The Smethport Borough Jump Start Program offers families an opportunity to enhance the beauty of the Borough.

Jumpstart Tree - For a donation of $300 a new tree will be planted in an appropriate tree-planting site along the tree lawn. The Shade Tree Commission will assist with site and species selection.

Price is subject to periodic revision to reflect current costing.
