Potato Creek Trail Association
Meeting Minutes for February 18, 2010
10 people attended this meeting.
Michelle Burns instated our own PCTA checking account. President and Treasurer will always co-sign checks. Michelle gave a quick financial report: we had no expenses in this calendar year yet. She got some money from new membership dues and renewals. A motion was made, seconded and agreed upon for a new financial methodology starting this calendar year.
Some changes to our bylaws have been made and will have to be voted on at our April meeting.
The Goose Chaser Trail will need signs.
We need more sponsors for additional signage and a suggestion was made to possibly instate an annual maintenance fee to be paid by the original sponsor of each sign.
We want to organize more fun activities to attract potential new members:
- A wild flower identification walk which will be hosted by Tim Pierson sometime in June
- A birding walk
- Canoeing on the lake or down potato creek (possibly as a race with check points and a BBQ) similar to the Great Valley or Falling Leaves regattas.
- Making garbage collection fun by awarding prizes for the most/weirdest garbage collected.
- An environmental interpretation wall
We will advertise these activities in the money saver and online. Anybody is welcome, and maybe Fran DeLancy from the Bradford Era will write an article about it.
We want to organize a dedication ceremony for our trail heads possibly on the 3rd week end in June. The Marvin Street Trail Head will be dedicated to Dr. Bowman in conjunction with the annual walk with Doc. We will invite the Trail Head Sponsors to the dedication ceremony.
Tim suggested a sign up online so people can walk/ski/canoe together.
Our next meeting will be on March 18, 2010 at 6:30 pm at the Senior Center.
