Potato Creek Trail Association

Meeting Minutes for October 21, 2009

Six members attended the meeting.

Ross Porter said that he would look into getting the donated gravel put on the parking area for the Wolfinger trails. Scott and Corky made plans to put the Plexiglas on the two kiosks. The group discussed the need for smaller sized kiosks for several locations so we have a place to put maps and other pertinent information. We could use another mini kiosk across the street from the Shawmut trailhead and at Green Street trailhead.

We need assistance in getting a larger map for the Wolfinger kiosk and one for the Goosechaser kiosk. Shane Locke can get use some blueprints for the mini kiosk and we will ask the prison to build these. Sally will give some ides to Shane regarding size and shape. He suggested we put mini solar lights on the kiosks.

Ross Porter mentioned that the National Conservancy is going to visit and consider buying the Teutonia historic site in Clermont. They are coming Tues. Nov. 3rd around 2 PM; PCTA members are welcome to join them; the meeting place is probably the cooperative extension office. This may be a future trail site.

Michele Burns located a supplier of wooden walking sticks that we could use for fund raisers. The supplier is Joe Props Shop in Kane. Michele will get a quote from him for the price of a basic hiking staff. (JoePropsShop@aol.com)

Michele also agreed to take over the membership monitoring duties. She is going to make membership cards.

We are going to need someone who can head up the development of the water trails.

The next meeting will be on the third Wednesday of November, 18th, 2009.
