Smethport Artist Julie Mader Opens Solo Exhibition at Warren Library

Awed by Pennsylvania’s “vista views and architectural jewels,” artist Julie Mader set out to capture on canvas and paper the beauty of her home state. The end result is “Embracing Pennsylvania,” a collection of works on display in the Wetmore Gallery at the Warren Library beginning November 1.
Featuring more than 50 pieces in a range of media, including watercolors, pen and ink, and acrylic paintings, the exhibition reflects Mader’s passion for the Keystone State. Read more
Smethport Hosts ‘Trail Town’ Meeting

At a meeting held at the Desert Rose Cafe in Smethport, 28 attendees from the region were introduced to the concept of “Trail Towns” during a joint presentation by the Allegheny National Forest Visitors Bureau (ANFVB) and the University of Pittsburgh at Bradford (UPB). Read more
Colonial Radio Group Celebrates Growth, Despite Slow Economy

At a party they hosted this week at their Colonial Radio Group office in Olean, New York, Smethport residents Jeff and Christy Andrulonis had good reason to celebrate.
A year ago, Colonial had 5 staff members and 7 radio stations. Today, they have 20 staff members and 8 stations, making their fast-paced media business one of the region’s great success stories.
“We still need four more people,” said Christy Andrulonis, Vice President of the privately-held firm.
Colonial is seeking highly experienced people from the broadcast industry, including an engineer, sales reps and on-air talent. Read more
