Clifford the Big Red Dog is coming to the Hamlin Memorial Library in Smethport!
Mark your calendar for Monday, October 10th at 7 pm and visit the Hamlin Library to listen to adventures written by Norman Bridwell and meet Clifford.
Clifford’s visit to Hamlin Library is the kick-off to a new 2011-12 children’s program titled “Author’s and Illustrators”. The monthly family program scheduled for the second Monday of each month through June 2012 is based on children’s authors who are also illustrators.
Children and parents will enjoy listening to stories, enjoy a snack and create a hands-on project to take home based on either artwork in the books or the theme of the stories. Read more

Smethport’s ‘Wheel Around the Hub Races’ Ready to Roll — Saturday, September 17

It’s almost ready to roll again! Smethport’s 2011, historic Wheel Around the Hub bicycle race is flying toward Saturday, September 17.
This year’s race features a unique but beautiful 52+ mile four-lap course that steers participants away from the replacement project of the Galico Bridge. The race will start at noon on Main Street in front of the McKean County Courthouse. Proceeds will benefit the Smethport Volunteer Fire Department. Read more
