Hamlin Memorial Library hosts a Farmers Market that is held every Saturday until October 15. Located behind the library on 123 South Mechanic Street, the market is open from 9 am to 12 noon.

Vendors offer an array of vegetables at very low prices. It’s a great way to supplement your own garden with items you may not have planted in spring. Buyers are advised to come early for the widest selection. Read more

Dr. Ramani Arya joins Bowman Health Center

Dr. Ramani Arya has joined the staff at Charles Cole Memorial Hospital’s Bowman Health Center in Smethport as a family physician.

“Dr. Arya is a kind, friendly and highly qualified provider. She is looking forward to meeting and caring for the residents of Smethport,” said Rose Bunch, physician recruiter.

Dr. Arya earned a medical degree at Kasturba Medical College and completed a family medicine residency at the State University of New York at Buffalo. Before joining CCMH’s medical staff, she cared for patients at family medicine group practices in Olean and Salamanca.

Grand Opening of the Kinzua Sky Walk - September 15

You won’t want to miss this…

The Grand Opening of the Kinzua Sky Walk will be held on Thursday, September 15 at 1:00 PM at the Kinzua Bridge State Park in Mt. Jewett, PA.

The newly constructed Kinzua Sky Walk, a pedestrian walkway with a partial glass floor built on the historic towers of the Kinzua Viaduct, will open to the public at 1:00 PM on September 15. Following the dedication, the public will be allowed to walk the “Tracks across the Sky”.

Also, the Kinzua Bridge Fall Festival will be held September 17 and 18 from 10 AM to 6 PM, and will feature live music, crafts and local food vendors. Admission is free.

Smethport Mobile News Link Goes Live

The Smethport website is now available on mobile devices in a clean, easy to read format called Smethport Mobile News Link.

“With more people using their smartphones and PDAs as replacements for desktop computers, we added code to the Smethport website that automatically determines what kind of mobile device is being used to view the content,” said Nathan Muller, who co-developed Smethport PA’s Online News Magazine with his wife, Linda.
